Stop Windows 10 Upgrade
So in the last few days we have gotten a ton of calls about computers upgrading to Windows 10 without permission. Sadly it was because some of the pop ups with misleading people and instead of declining the upgrade you ended up scheduling the update.
If you have a pop up that looks like this:
DO NOT CLICK ON THE RED X IN THE CORNER. This does not stop the scheduled update. In order to stop that there is a link right underneath the big bold Date and Time. You can go there to decline the update.If you have the pop up without the X but just a scheduler then you need to follow the instructions below
Go to the following website Ultimate Outsider (http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/)
Click on GWX Control Panel and download
Once downloaded open the file and accept the agreement
Press “Disable Get Windows 10 App (remove icon)” and “Prevent Automatic Windows 10 Upgrades”, Delete Windows 10 Download Folders..” and Delete Windows 10 Programs…”
If you have upgraded by accident you have 30 days to downgrade. After 30 days it will cost $199 according to Microsoft.
