Windows 10 Upgrade: What should you do

Should I upgrade to Windows 10 seems to be the question of the day. Microsoft is offering free upgrades for Windows 7 and Windows 8 and 8.1. So should you go for it.

If you are running Windows 7 or Windows 8 or 8.1 and you find your computer is just not running well, it glitches or in the case of Windows 8 you just don’t like the interface then we think it is worth doing the upgrade. We have been using it on one of our computers and the improvements from Windows 8 are obvious and welcome.

BEFORE YOU UPGRADE YOUR SYSTEM PLEASE BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA!

Please note there are some concerns as to data sharing with Windows 10 and Microsoft. You can change the privacy settings to reduce the amount of information being shared.

If your computer is running well then we would recommend waiting. You don’t have to wait long maybe 4 to 6 months or once the first service pack has been released. But lets give some more time for any potential bugs to be discovered and worked out by others.

So the answer to should I upgrade to Windows 10 is an ambiguous maybe. Which does lead to questions – so please feel free to ask.

We would also like to remind you if you have a computer running Windows XP – PLEASE please do not do any banking or on line shopping with this computer. Microsoft stopped supporting this product some time ago so there have been no security updates. It is an easy hack for the bad guys.
